Difference Between Corporate video Vs TVC

Corporate videos have become the go to marketing tool for most big companies wanting to take their products to a whole new level. But there is still a misconception that a corporate video is an ad/promotional video.

There are certain differences between the two kinds of videos. While both are marketing/branding tools, advertisements and advertisement videos promote a service or a product. An ad is a luxury product for has now become one of the largest markets. An ad video is made to persuade the public to make a move to avail the product or service. This strengthens the call-to-action of a product many-fold. These videos are typically short and mostly for B2C products. Ad videos may be fiction as well as testimonial based. Spoken content in advertisements make a greater difference. Choosing words wisely may make a brand easily. Sometimes the message is subtle and implies a brand image to motivate trust in people. The absence of an ad of a product or a service now-a-days creates suspicion in the public.

Corporate videos are much different. While ads put more weight in words, corporate videos make visuals the core of the video. While words are important, visuals can inspire to gain loyalty. These videos are mainly to strengthen the company profile. Corporate videos generally target B2B industries.  A corporate video speaks about the history, mission, vision, premises, ethics, values or any other overall company information. It answers the “Why do we exist?” of the company.

So whereas an advertisement is great at showcasing a new product, service offering or event; corporate videos are great in helping the company appeal to their desired target audience, therefore creating a loyal group of followers for the company.
